Living in an alternate reality

One of the defining characteristics that have shaped the Republican message sense Obama took office is their attempt to propogate this image of Obama's administration as some sort of Stalinist dictatorship.  And look - these ideas are widespread. 42% of all Republicans are birthers. They buy into blatently MISLEADING propaganda that they rarely own up to when they are proved wrong. They would have us believe:

1.) The government want to take control of our computers (which by the way was proven FALSE)
2.) Obama is setting up FEMA concentration camps for conservatives
3.) The health reform bill will euthanize seniors and provide abortion on demand with public funds.

Of course the latest purported government atrocity is that apparently Obama is setting up a "snitch program" where upstanding liberal citizens are supposedly called to turn in their conservative neighbor's information whenever they hear ANY sort of criticism about his health care plan.

Wow. What a bunch of bull. Due to the massive amounts of DISinformation being put out by conservatives about the administration (read the above examples), and with their political viability riding on the passage of some sort of health care reform, the White House has launch a campaign to directly address false accusations about the health care bill. Because they can't possibly keep track of all the BS that's floating around and directly refute what's being said, they are asking supporters to let them know some of the outrageous stuff they are hearing. This isn't the Red Scare. Calm the hell down.
